Full-Dull Polyester DTY

Full-dull polyester DTY (FD) has a matte appearance with very little surface shine. It is used in apparel, knitted fabrics and home textiles.

ABOUT ZHENYI CHEMICAL FIBER

Built on manufacturing experience dating back to 2007, Zhenyi Chemical Fiber brings together the Weien and Baoyi production bases under an integrated business system. We specialize in the production and sales of polyester DTY, while international trade and customer support are provided by Shoyee International Trading Co., Ltd.

Weien Intelligent Manufacturing (Jiaxing) Co., Ltd. operates the Weien production facility, with a site area of approximately 13,300 m² (20 mu). Tongxiang Baoyi Textile Co., Ltd. operates the Baoyi production facility, with a site area of approximately 10,000 m² (15 mu).

Together, the two facilities have a total production workshop floor area of approximately 100,000 m² and are equipped with 100 draw-texturing machines, providing a combined polyester DTY production capacity of up to 400 metric tons per day. They manufacture DTY in a range of deniers, filament counts, luster types and intermingling levels for customers in China and overseas.

  • How Full-Dull Yarn Gets Its Flat, Natural-Fiber Look

Full-dull polyester carries the highest TiO₂ loading of the three luster grades Zhenyi Chemical Fiber produces, scattering nearly all incident light and eliminating the synthetic shine associated with standard polyester filament. Full-Dull Polyester DTY is the finish most often requested when a fabric needs to visually approximate cotton, wool or other natural fibers while keeping polyester's durability and easy-care performance.

  • A Trade-Off Worth Knowing: TiO₂ Loading and Abrasion Resistance

Higher delusterant content can marginally reduce a filament's abrasion resistance compared to bright yarn of the same denier, since the embedded TiO₂ particles act as micro stress points under repeated flexing. For most apparel and home-textile end uses this difference is not noticeable in service life, but for high-abrasion applications such as upholstery facing fabric, it's worth confirming with a Martindale or similar abrasion test before finalizing full-dull yarn for that specific use.

  • SIM and HIM Grid Options for Full-Dull

Full-dull is currently offered in light-grid (SIM) and heavy-grid (HIM) intermingle levels, following the same logic as the brighter finishes: heavier intermingling for high-speed knitting and warping stability, lighter intermingling where hand feel and filament mobility take priority. Because full-dull's flatter surface already reduces filament-to-filament friction slightly, some knitters find the heavy-grid option gives noticeably better unwinding consistency compared to the same intermingle level on bright yarn.

  • Confirming the Right Grade for Your Fabric

Because "matte" can mean different things depending on lighting and camera settings used in marketing photos, it's worth requesting a physical Full-Dull Polyester DTY sample rather than approving a fabric spec from a photo alone. Zhenyi Chemical Fiber can arrange small trial batches so the finished hand and matte level can be confirmed against your own reference swatch before a full production order is placed.
